摘要

Abstract

The calibration of the channel roughness on site is an important subject in hydraulics. Flow rate and water stage measurement inevitably have stochastic errors, so how to reduce the influence of measurement errors on the roughness calibration is a key problem to be solved. On the basis of systematical research on the effects of measurement errors, channel length and backwater on the calibration error, the simplified formula for the channel roughness error was presented. Methods were put forward to decrease the calibration error, including, 1) the same orientation for observed errors of channel water depths, 2) reasonable layout of the channel measured points, 3) gate opening control to reduce the backwater slope, and besides, carrying out calibration in the designed condition or operating with as large volumetric discharges as possible.
