摘要

Abstract

Flame synthesis of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is demonstrated via oxyacetylene pyrolysis flame. To study the effects of catalysts and synthesis environment on synthesis result, different kinds of catalysts were used at different synthesis environment in this work. The results indicated that categories of synthesis products are determined directly by catalyst particle size, different products have special needs for different synthesis temperature and CNTs synthesis is badly impeded by excessively high flame temperature. In conclusion, substrate-support catalysts Fe/Mo/Al2O3 are appropriate for catalytic synthesis of small-diameter single, double and triple-walled carbon nanotubes at 830 ℃ and anaerobic environment inside pyrolysis chamber, while in contrary Fe catalyst particles formed by pyrolysis attachment-polymerization of iron pentacarbonyl are appropriate for catalytic synthesis of big-diameter multi-walled carbon nanotubes with at 600 ℃ in the flame of V-type chamber.
