Abstract
In the traditional forest resources planning survey（hereinafter referred to as ＂category survey） the subcompartment coding is a time-consuming,tedious and boring work.Coding personnel only relay on a pair of eyes and a pen,and intuition,therefore subjectivity is strong.And in coding process once due to errors in judgement or omission,all that has been achieved is often spoiled.On the basis of work experience in the category investigation of a few units,the authors,in ArcGIS platform,make use of the electronic form-Excel（hereinafter referred to as Excel）,realize the automation of subcompartment coding and greatly improve the working efficiency.关键词
