Abstract
The planning and construction of new towns in the suburbs give a large impulse to urban and economic transformation of Shanghai. At the meanwhile, new towns in the suburbs near the high-speed railway hubs face new development opportunities and challenges. Songjiang New City, which is located near the South Songjiang Railway Station, is taken as a best-practice and a model of transit-oriented new town in the suburb of Shanghai. This paper focuses on the development goals, industrial structure, planning strategies and implementation policies of the Songjiang New City.关键词
