Abstract
The study on transient process and the hydraulic model test of headrace-generation system of hydropower stations with large discharge and low-to-medium head is a new topic in recent years. For determining the layout of headrace system and the type of surge chamber of Luding Hydropower Station, the hydraulic model tests are conducted for the headrace-generation system. Based on the similarity law of unsteady flow in pressure diversion systems, the similarity conditions for the hydraulic model and the prototype are derived. The surge chamber designs are compared by the tests, and the tests also demonstrate that the layout of headrace-generation system is reasonable. These tests provide a basis for engineering design.关键词
