摘要

Abstract

This paper develops an optimal operation model by the criterion of maximizing the cascaded hydropower plants' total benefit that becomes a pursuit of the hydropower companies in the deregulated power market,and presents a multi-guide particle swarm optimizer for realization of the optimization.To improve the PSO convergence that is much poorer at the late stage of iteration,we introduce a multi-guide set into the group best selection,and propose a comprehensive learning policy for the personal best selection of each particle.This new approach is verified with an application to a real cascaded power system on a river in southwest China,and the results show its great competitiveness against the existing methods.
