Translation of Popular Science English Based on Wilson＇s Translation Model

Abstract
Popular Science English （ I＇SE） is possessed of scientific, literary, popular and interesting properties, which requires PSE translators to display these properties in the target text apart from adhering to the criteria of faithfulness and fluency. In the study of the translation of proverbs and their metaphors in the Bible, Wilson constructed a model, in which translation is viewed as a process of analyzing the essential components of the source text and mapping as many of the components of the message from the source text to the target text as possible. Based on Wilson＇s model of translation, this paper analyzes some major components of PSE translation and examines the mappings in the PSE translation, in an attempt to provide some practical help for PSE translators.关键词
