摘要
Abstract
Professor Wei shiquan is a famous plant pathologist and agricultural educationist in our country. Mr. Wei is highly skilled in plant virology, erudite in history and now, and has advanced many innovative ideas and had successful practices as to the discipline development of plant virology. In his early years Mr. Wei made some research on the physiology of plant fungal diseases and in the 1960s he began to specialize in and teach plant virology. Mr. Wei has made a lot of systematic and deep researches on the rdzuki-bean mosaic virus, the ringspot virus of soybean, the turnip mosaic virus of Chinese cabbages and some fruit tree viruses and diseases. He has made outstanding contributions to the virus purification, serological techniques, virus strain division and resistant identification of varieties, etc. Also, Professor Wei made great efforts and contributions to the discipline building of plant virology and personnel training. In his more than forty years of being dedicated to the plant pathology education, Mr. Wei has always paid much attention to the combination of scientific research with production practice and that of theory with reality. As a famous professor and scientist, Mr. Wei is not only of great academic attainments but heartedly respected for his noble academic morality.关键词
