Relationship between the aberrant methylation of CpG island of TFPI-2 gene and pancreatic cancer
摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the methylation of CpG island of TFPI-2 gene in pancreatic carcinoma. Methods Methylation-specific PCR was used to detect the promoter methylation of TFPI-2 gene in pancreatic cancer tissues and the adjacent tissues from 45 patients. Results Promoter methylation of TFPI-2 was found in 71.1 % (32/45) of cancer tissues and 31.1% (14/45) of carcinoma adjacent tissues , their difference was significant (P < 0.01). Aberrant methylation was not found in 8 normal pancreas tissues. The positive rate of TFPI-2 methylation was related to clinical stage, tissue differentiation, and tumor size (P < 0.05). Conclusion Aberrant methylation of TFPI-2 gene was found in pancreatic cancer, which may associated with the occurrence and progression of pancreatic cancer.关键词
