Comparison of TP regime with DDP in concurrent chemoradiotherapy for patients with locally advanced cervical cancer

Abstract
Objective To compare taxol plus cis-platinum regime (TP) with cis-platinum (DDP) in concurrent chemoratiotherapy ( CCRT) for patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. Methods Forty-four patients with locally advanced cervical cancer were treated with external beam radiotherapy to pelvic and 192Ir braehytherapy. Concurrently they received chemotherapy with TP regime or DDP alone. Results All the patients finished the treatment. The response rates for TP and DDP groups were 66.7% and 55.0% 3 months after the treatment. And the 1-year survival rates were 83. 3% and 70.0% , respectively (P >0.05). During the CCRT, grade IB - IV leucopenia was noted in 16. 7% and 5. 0% of patients in TP and DDP groups, respectively (P >0. 05); grade III ~ IV grastrointestinal toxicities were noted in 12.5% and 5.0% of patients (P >0.05), respectively. Conclusion There are no significant differences in efficacy and adverse response between TP and DDP groups in CCRT for patients with locally advanced cervical cancer.关键词
