Abstract

An ecological floating bed experimental project was carried out in the Qiandunpu estuary region in Dianshan Lake to purify the water with varieties of ecological floating bed systems. The results show that the concentration of DO in the ecological floating bed region increased by 2.06 mg/L and 0.38 mg/L, and the water transparency increased by 8.1 cmand 7.4cm, respectively, compared with those in the water intake area of the Qiandunpu River and the area where water enters the floating bed region. The annual average Chlorophyll a in the ecological floating bed region was less than 20μg/L. After the ecological floating bed experimental project, the pollutant load removal rates of TN, TP, COD, and SS were 14.9, 0.90, 58.3, and 64.4g/(m2·d) for the Qiandunpu River intake water, and 5.27, 0.36, 25.13, and 47.53g/(m2·d) for the water flowing into the floating bed region, respectively. The ecological floating bed system has effectively improved the quality of the Qiandunpu River intake water and the water surrounding the floating bed.
