Effect of three different preparations of rhubarb on purgative activity in rats
摘要
Abstract
[Objective] To study the effect of three different preparations of rhubarb on the purgative activity in rats. [Methods] The Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups (n=10 in each group): normal group, superfine power group, granules group and traditional decoction pieces group. The rats were given with different preparations juice at a dose of 4 g/kg respectively by gavage daily, normal group was given with saline. The total excrements and the quantity of stools were observed, the level of stools and diarrhea index was calculated, and blood routine test and electrolytes were tested at last. [Results] There was difference in purgative activities among rats treated with three different preparations of rhubarb with equal doses. There was significant difference in purgative activities between the superfine power group and the traditional decoction pieces group. The effect of purgative activity of granules group was the worst. [Conclusion] The purgative activities induced by different preparations of rhubarb are different.关键词
