Experimental Study on the Failure Process of a Rock with Tortuously Non-connected Fault
摘要
Abstract
The failure process of a rock with tortuously non-connected fault was experimentally studied using the digital speckle correlation method. The evolution of the deformation field during failure was studied. The DSCM system captured speckle images during the test process and then the deformation field at various moments was obtained. Experimental results show that deformation initially focuses on the weak structure of the rock surface and the failure process is also affected by the weak surface. Stress concentration locates at the crack tip and the new cracks generate and expand from there, finally leads to the whole structure damage. The statistical indication of deformation field, Cv value changes slightly during the homogenous deformation stage and increases rapidly before the rock failure, the Cv value can then be used as the prediction of the rock failure.关键词
