Abstract
Objective To study the clinical outcome of endovenous microwave treatment (EMT) for the lower limbs varicose veins. Methods Thirty-six patients with varicose veins were treated by EMT (the EMT group) in the Department of General Surgery, First Hospital of Xianyang, Shaanxi Province, and the clinical data of 50 patients treated by the varicose veins stripping (the control group) were retrospectively compared. Results The two therapeutic regimens reached similar clinical outcomes. The operative time was shorter in the EMT group with less operation bleeding and less incisions. The length of hospital stay and the incidence rate of haemostasis was lower in the EMT group than in the control group; the limb numbness did not differ between the two groups. Conclusions EMT is a newly, safe, minimally invasion and easily operated technique in the treatment of varicose veins.关键词
