Abstract

Yuqiao reservoir, as one of the most important sources of drinking water for Tianjin, is nearly impaired as the concentration of TN and TP hard to meet water quality standards, and needs to adopt significant measures to relieve the pollution loading pressure. The paper performed an analysis on practice scenario implementations for water quality improvement in Yuqiao Reservoir, based on a general consideration for drinking water source environment protection. Firstly, GWLF ( generalized watershed loading function) model was used for identifying pollution sources and estimating load source apportionment a-round the reservoir watershed. Secondly, the paper put forward several measures as practice scenario based on the concepts and methods of BMP ( best management practice ) and LID (lower impact development) , as well as some circumstances of the reservoir. Thirdly, using BATHTUB model, the environmental benefits facing water quality for each scenario implementation were calculated and evaluated. Finally, the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process was used in comparing the alternative scenarios above by scoring each practice to gather an integrative conclusion of BMP for a decision support suggestion.
