Abstract
In this paper, long time series data and new topography, hydrologic and sediment data were used to further discuss the erosion proeess, mechanisms and recent development at the the Abandoned Yellow River Delta(AYRD), which includes the detailed analysis of the coastal slope erosion patterns in Binhai Harbour (BH)and the influence of 100000 ton Deep Waterway Projeet(DWP)on its stability. Studies indicates that big waves play a key role in coastal erosion process at the AYRD,and after almost a century, though the shoreline is still protruding towards the sea,a complete underwater delta form has no longer existed. Recently, such erosion whose rate has slowed down, is represented by the integral shift of the eroded underwater slope towards the land. The stable underwater slope gradient will be about l:85,after effective methods on the defense of shoreline where the proposed project will be constructed are taken. The construction of jetty, applied to impede the coarsening sediment layer, has a positive effect on coastal protection, mitigating or preventing the further erosion on the beach. The deposition at DWP at BH is mainly the siltation of suspended sediment, with relative large siltation at the mouth of the inner channel and out channel near the estuary where the dredging depth is large.关键词
