Abstract
BACKGROUND: Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) binding cassette transporter A1 gene rs2066715 polymorphism is related to blood lipid levels and coronary heart disease. However, the effects on blood lipid levels vary by race, age and gender in the previous researches. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the association of rs2066715 single-nucleotide polymorphism of ATP binding cassette transporter A1 gene with blood lipid levels in young adults of Han populations. METHOUDS: A total of 394 young adults of Han populations under the age of 35 were included. Genotypes of ATP binding cassette transporter A1 gene rs2066715 site were determined by stratified sampling and polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism in all subjects. The association of different genotypes with blood lipid levels and the interaction between gene and environment were evaluated. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The carrier rate of gene site A in ATP binding cassette transporter A1 gene rs2066715 among young adults of Han populations were significantly higher than that of European populations. There were no significant differences in the carrier rate of the three genotypes between genders (P > 0.05). The carrier rate of GG, GA and AA genotypes were 33.50%, 48.98% and 15.72%, respectively. The levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and apolipoprotein A-I were lower in carriers of the A allele than that of the non-carriers (P < 0.01). These findings indicate that the carrier rate of the A allele among young adults of Han populations is high. The level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and apolipoprotein A-I is low in the carriers of the A allele in ATP binding cassette transporter A1 gene.关键词
