Abstract
The near range clutter of airborne non-side-looking (NSL) arrays severely depends on the range. In the case of range ambiguity, effective suppression is difficult to be carried out by using conventional space-time adaptive processing (STAP) methods. This paper presents a knowledge-aided STAP approach for NSL. By utilization of a new sample selection strategy as well as an improved knowledge-aided covariance estimation ( KACE) model for near range clutter, the performance of the proposed approach is close to be optimal and much higher than that obtained by usual means based on sample covariance estimation. In addition, the problem of lacking training samples is also solved. Its validity is proved by the results of simulation.关键词
