中国共产党思想理论教育方法逐渐由传统型向现代型转变。思想理论教育方法的现代转型，包括由经验型向科学型转变，由“说教式”的单向硬性灌输向“沟通式”的双向民主交流转变，由显性教育向显性与隐性相结合转变。思想理论教育方法的变迁遵循科学性、适应性和实效性的原则。当前，思想理论教育方法正趋向综合化，注重层次性，并努力借鉴多种学科的方法，完善思想理论教育的方法体系。
