摘要

Abstract

Wood properties, fiber quality and pulping performance of a 5 years old hybrid tulip tree (Liriodendron chinense-L, tulipifera) were investigated. The results showed that the basic density of Liriodendron chinense-L, tulipifera is 0.374 g/cm3, the average fiber length is 1.34 mm and length to width ratio is 48. The contents of lignin, pentosan and 1% NaOH extractives are 19.6%, 15.7% and 26.5%, respectively. Wood chips were cooked under the conditions of total titratable alkali of 18% (as Na2O on wood), sulfidity of 20% and highest temperature of 170℃. The obtained pulp yield is 46.9% and the Kappa number is 14.3. The breaking length, burst index and tear index of hand sheet are 6.4 km, 3.9 kPa-mE/g and 6.3 mN·mE/g, respectively.
