Application of three short fluoroalkyl chain acrylate emulsions on textile finishing

Abstract
Three short fluoroalkyl chain acrylate co-polymer emulsions of hexafluoro butyl acrylate copoly-mer PFA1, octafluoropenyl acrylate copolymer PFA2 and hexafluoro-n-butyl niethacrylate copolymer PFA3 were applied on cotton fabric finishing, respectively. The performances of fabrics before and after finishing with different emulsion were compared. The result showed that the water repellency of fabric finished by PFA3 was excellent with the water repellency of 90 points and 130.5° of contact angle. The tensile strength of three emulsions finished fabrics increased, but the whiteness and crease recovery angle slightly decreased. The morphology structure of cotton fabrics before and after finishing was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD).关键词
