Identification and Reduction of Gear Whine Noise of Domestic Transmission

摘要

Abstract

Gear whine in automotive transmission was identified and reduced. The whine noise was tested in vehicle and in the NVH testbench. Through order tracking analysis and noise contribution a- nalysis, the whine orders were found. The problem was special that different parts have the same or- der. Then through the tooth contact spot analysis the source of the gear whine was found. Combined with the position and the shape of the contact pattern, the helical modification was made. The whine noise drops by 5dB(A).
