The Chinese Version of State Adult Attachment Measure (SAAM):It's Applicability in Chinese College Students

Abstract
Objective: To introduce and investigate the psychometric attributes of the Chinese version of the state adult attachment measure(SAAM). Methods: 2290 Chinese college students were surveyed in the research. Results: Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses yielded three reliable subscales measuring state levels of attachment-related security, avoidance and anxiety, with Cronbach's a of these subscales were 0.71, 0.67 and 0.54 respectively; and with test-retest reliabilities of them were 0.50, 0.55 and 0.47 corresponding. There are significant differences in the effects of such demography variables as gender, grade and romantic status on their adult attachment style. Conclusion: The Chinese version of SAAM can be used as an effective instrument to assess the attachment status in Chinese college students.关键词
