Development and Application of the Scale of Tendency to Forgive for Adolescents
摘要
Abstract
The purpose of present study was to develop a valid and reliable self-rated instrument to measure the tendency to forgive for adolescents, and meanwhile to explore the characteristics of adolescents' forgiveness. The initial items were generated from an open questionnaire survey, and then item analyses and exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted to develop the scale. The final Scale of Tendency to Forgive for Adolescents (STFA) consisted of 22 items containing two subscales, which were identified forgiving others and forgiving self. Furthermore, the result of using STFA in 840 adolescents showed that ①compared with girls, boys tend to revenge others more; ②and girls tend to punish themselves more; ③tendency of both forgive others and self decreases with age among adolescents.关键词
