Abstract
Objective: To test the reliability and validity of the Saving Inventory-Revised(SI-R), and view the hoarding in Chinese sample. Methods: 2100 university students were asked to complete a battery of structured questionnaires, including the Chinese version of the SI-R, Padua Inventory(PI), Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS), and Center for Epi-demiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D). 229 of 2100 students were chosen to complete the SI-R again after 3 to 4 weeks. Results: Confirmatory factor analysis of the Chinese version of SI-R couldn' t confirm the three-factor model. Factor analysis identified 2 factors, excessive acquisition-difficulty discarding, and clutter. The internal consistencies of the SI-R and its subscales were 0.829 to 0.893. The test-retest reliabilities were between 0.533 and 0.561. For the total score of SI-R, the correlation coefficients were 0.431 to obsessive-compulsive symptoms, 0.355 to anxiety, and 0.343 to depres-sion(P<0.01). Conclusion: The Chinese version of the SI-R appears to be an appropriate instrument for assessing symptoms of compulsive hoarding in Chinese culture.关键词
