Abstract

Objective:Thc research aims at studying the role of peripheral blood intcricukin 4 (IL-4) , intcricukin 8 (IL-8) and intcricukin 10 (IL-10) in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methods: Use double-antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assam (ELISA) to detect the content of scrum IL-4, IL-8 and IL-10 in 50 cases of acute exacerbation of COPD (AECOPD) , 50 cases of paracmastic COPD, 50 cases of acute asthma, 50 cases of paracmastic asthma and 50 cases of healthy volunteers (healthy control group). Results: The levels of IL-4 and IL-8 in the scrum of the patients with acute asthma were significantly higher than that of the paracmastic asthma group(P<0. 01) , while the levels of scrum IL-4,IL-8 in these two groups were significantly higher than that in the healthy group (P<C0. 01). The levels of IL-10 in the scrum of the a-cutc asthma group was significantly lower than that in the paracmastic asthma groupCP^O. 01) , while the level of scrum IL-10 in both groups were significantly lower than that in the healthy group (P<0. 01). The levels of IL-4 and IL-8 in the scrum of the patients with AECOPD was significantly higher than that in the paracmastic COPD group(P<0. 01) , while the levels of scrum IL-4 and IL-8 in the two groups were significantly higher than that in the healthy group (P< 0. 01). The IL-10 level in the scrum of the patients with AECOPD was significantly lower than that of the paracmastic COPD group(P<0. 01) and the levels of scrum IL-10 in both groups were singnificantly lower than in the healthy group (P<C0. 01). The scrum IL-4 level in the a-cutc asthma group was significantly higher than in the acute asthma group (P<C 0. 01) ; the scrum IL-8 level in AECOPD was significantly higher than in the acute asthma group (P<Z 0. 01) ; the level of scrum IL-10 in the acute asthma group asthma was significantly lower than in AECOPD group (P< 0. 01). Conclusions: IL-4, IL-8 and IL-10 arc engaged in asthma and COPD airway inflammatory response. IL-4 and IL-8 arc inflammation-promoting factors and IL-10 is inhibitory inflammatory factor. IL-4 plays an important role in asthma's airway inflammation and IL-8, IL-10 arc main inflammatory factors in COPD.
