Effect of Low Temperature Stress on Banana Seedlings under Different Humidity Environment

Abstract
In order to study banana Seedlings response to low temperature at high and middle humidity, and to provide technology service for which production under low temperature stress, the effects of low temperature were investigated on the banana seedlings grown at different humidity. It is found that the chilling injury to banana seedlings at the high humidity (RH90%) was significantly lighter than that in the middle humidity (60%-70%) at the same low temperature. The seedlings had about 90% water content and stronger dehydration resistance at the high humidity. However, the seedlings at the middle humidity had only about 62.15% water content. The low temperature (6℃) led to 24.40% higher malondialdehyde content at the middle humidity than at the high humidity, and the high humidity delayed the increase of membrane leakage rate and MDA content, and the chilling injury to the cell membrane at the high humidity was gentler than that at the middle humidity.关键词
