Relationship between Undergraduate Students′ Sub-health and Social Supports
摘要
Abstract
Objective To evaluate the sub - health status of undergraduate students and explore the correlation between sub - health and social supports so as to offer scientific evidence for the health care of undergraduate students' psychical and mental state. Methods A total of 1 903 undergraduate students in three universities in Chongqing Municipality were selected by stratified cluster random sampling. They were asked to finish Multidimensional Sub - health Questionnaire of Adolescents ( MSQA ) and Social Support Rating Scale ( SSRS ) . Results The detection rate of undergraduate students' sub - health symptoms was 42. 8%. The sub - health symptom scores of female students were notably higher than that of male students. The scores of freshmen and sophomore in mental sub - health symptoms were notably higher than that of junior students. The sub - health symptom scores of students of medicine and liberal arts were notably higher than that of students of science and engineering. Each dimension score of students who sleep less than eight hours ( < 8 h ) a day was notably higher than that of students who sleep more than eight hours ( S8h)a day. Each social support score of the healthy group was notably higher than that of sub - healthy group ( P <0. 01 ) . Each sub - health dimension was negatively correlated to the dimensions of social supports ( P < 0. 05 ) . Conclusion The incidence rate of sub - healthy symptoms among undergraduate students is high. Sub - health was negatively correlated with social supports. Therefore measures should be taken to improve social supports and their utilization for undergraduate students to prevent the occurrence of sub - health.关键词
