Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical and pathological characteristics and treatment of small cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder ( SCCB ) . Methods Clinical data of 2 patients with SCCB were summarized and relevant literatures from China and abroad were reviewed. Results Two patients were male. The stage was T2N0M0 in Case 1, who underwent radical cys-tectomy followed by chemotherapy. The stage was T4N3M, in Case 2, who had components of and transitional cell carcinoma and received 2 courses of chemotherapy. Case 1 survived and Case 2 died 9 months after chemotherapy. Conclusion Primary SCCB is a rarely seen malignant tumor without standard treatment. For early localized tumor, cystectomy combined with adjuvant chemotherapy or neoadjuvant chemotherapy can improve patients' disease -free and overall survival. For metastatic tumor, the chemotherapy using platinum agent is the most adopted treatment关键词
