The application of triamcinolone acetonide injection in vttreoretinal surgery of Juvenile

Abstract
Objective To disscuss the role and effect of the triamcinolone acetonide (TA) injection applied in the vitreoretinal surgery of juvenile for assisting to distinguish and removal cortex. Methods Two hundreds and fifty-three children (253 eyes) underwent a pars plana vitrectomy. Those affected eyes were selected without posterior vitrepus detachment vitreous detachment pre- and intra-operatively, and underwent intravitreal injection with TA 2mg to Libel the residual vitreous cortex on the surface of the posterior retina after removal of the majority vitreous. Results The location and coverage of the residual vitreous cortex were clearly be shown by the white appearance of TA labeled residual vitreous, and the residual vitreous cortex was conveniently to be recongnized and removed. 229 eyes (90.51%) were recovery, visual acuity ≤0.02 were with 24 eyes, visual acuity >0.02 were with 141 eyes (55.73%), visual acuity ≥0.1 were with 88 eyes (34.78%). Best corrected visual acuity is 0.9. Conlusions The application of intravitreal injection with TA is helpful for identification and elimination of the residual vitreous cortex in vitreoretinal surgery of juvenile.关键词
