Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of low vision devices used in low vision clinic. Methods Children diagnised as low vision by mydriasis retinoscopy were provided with far and near low vision devices for visual rehabilitation. Results Congenital nystagmus combined with refractive error is common in 25 children with low vision, accounting for 76.00%. 20 cases who choosed far visual rehabilitation obtained best-corrected far visual acuity between 0.1 and 0.3. And far Visual rehabilitation ≥1.0 after using 4X、6X far and near lspyglass. The rate of de-disability (corrected visual acuity ≥0.3) was 100%. 5 cases who choosed near visual rehabilitation obtained best-corrected near visual acuity between 0.1 and 0.3 and near visual rehabilitation was ≥0.5 after using 2.5X、 3X、4X magnifying glass with straight handle and 2.5X wooden-horse magnifying glass. Rehabilitation was 100%. Conclusion Application of low vision devices can effectively improves far and near visual acuity and visual quality of low vision children and give a chance for normal education. As a result, early detection, early dignosis,early correcting and early isual rehabilitation is important for the children.关键词
