Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To study the protection effect of Pueraria lobata ethanol-extract on type 2 diabetes model rats. METHODS: Rats were given intravenous injection of streptozotocin, high fat diet to establish rat model of type 2 diabetes mellitus. 60 Wistar rats were divided into 6 groups, ie normal control group, model group, metformin group (70 mg·kg-1) ,P. lobata ethanol-extract high-dose, medium-dose and low-dose (150, 100, 50 mg·kg-1) groups. They were given medicine intragastrically once a day for 10 consecutive weeks. The insulin sensitivity index (ISI) was calculated by determining the contents of fasting blood glucose (FBG) and serum insulin (Flns), and the contents of tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α) and interleukin 6 (IL-6) were determined. RESULTS: The contents of ISI, TNF-α and IL-6 in model group were significantly higher than in normal control group; The contents of ISI, TNF-α and IL-6 in P. lobata ethanol-extract high-dose and medium-dose groups were significantly lower than in model group. CONCLUSION:P lobata ethanol-extract can be obtained by adjusting the contents of ISI, TNF-α and IL-6 to improve the symptoms of type 2 diabetic model rats. The conclusions provide experimental basis for clinical use of P. lobata ethanol-extract.关键词
