Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of non-invasive mechanical ventilation (NPPV) combined with Shenmai injection in the treatment of COPD complicating with respiratory failure. METHODS: 61 COPD patients with respiratory failure were randomly divided into 2 groups: control group (n=31) and treatment group (n=30). Both group were treated with conventional therapy plus NPPV, and treatment group additionally received Shenmai injection 40 mL added into 5% Glucose injection 250 mL via I.v. Once a day for 10 days. The arterial blood gas values, C-reactive protein and APACHE II score were compared between 2 groups before and after treatment. The effective rate, the duration of total mechanical ventilation and the duration of hospital stay were compared between 2 groups. RESULTS: The arterial blood gas values and C-reactive protein in the treatment group were better than control group. The effective rate of the treatment group were higher than the control group. The duration of hospitalization and mechanical ventilation were (11.0 ± 1.8) d and (5.9 ± 3.0) d in the treatment group, which were lower than (13.6±2.5) d and (7.5±3.6) d in the control group, there were significant differences between 2 groups (p<0.05).There were no serious ADRs found. CONCLUSION: Shenmai injection combined with NPPV could relieve disease in the treatment of COPD complicating with respiratory failure and shorten the duration of hospitalization and mechanical ventilation.关键词
