Content Determination of Valsartan and Hydrochlorothiazid in Valsartan/Hydrochlorothiazid Capsules by HPLC

Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To establish a method for the simultaneous determination of valsartan and hydrochlorothiazid in Val-sartan/hydrochlorothiazid capsules. METHODS: HPLC method was adopted. Chromatrex ds column was used with the mobile phase consisted of methanol- water (70:30, pH value adjusted to 3.1 using phosphoric acid) at the flow rate of 1.0 mL·min-1. The detection wavelength was set at 230 nm and column temperature was 25℃. Injection volume was 20 μL. RESULTS: The linear ranges were 8~160μg·mL-1 for valsartan (r=0.999 7) and 1.25-25 μg·mL-1 for hydrochlorothiazid (r=0.999 5). The average recoveries were 99.66% (RSD=0.33% , n=9) and 99.87% (RSD=0.81% , n=9). CONCLUSION: The established method is rapid, sensitive, well-separated, accurate and reliable. It can be applied to control the quality of Valsartan/hydrochlorothiazid capsules.关键词
