Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of cochleostomy followed by intracochlea infusion on guinea pig' s hearing. Methods A paired design was conducted, and 5 healthy guinea pigs were used. After general anesthesia, the experiment ears underwent cochleostomy followed by infusion of 0.85% saline via minipumps. The cochlear potentials were recorded on the 0, 2nd, 4th and 6th day after surgery. Structures of the cochlea were examined with HE staining. Results There were not significant differences between the treated and control ears in the CAP threshold and SP amplitude at 8 kHz. And endolymphatic hydrops was not seen in the treated cochlea. Conclusion Cochleostomy followed by intracochlea infusion does not result in obvious damage to hearing in guinea pigs and does not lead to endolymphatic hydrops.关键词
