Abstract
This article treats of the application limitations of standard air-conditioning compressors in HWHPs （Hot Water Heat Pumps） based on a technical analysis of current HWHPs and experimental results. The climate characteristics and hot water requirements in China place high demands of the technical features of the compressor, and an improved compressor to meet the operating demands of HWHP in most of China＇s regions, is proposed. The new ZWKS compressor range from Emerson Climate Technologies overcomes the deficiencies of air-conditioning compressors by employing an economizer circuit. The ZWKS design features, extended working envelope and experimental results indicate that HWHPs can be efficient and reliable even when delivering hot water at low ambient temperatures. These advantages should enable development of the HWHP market in the colder regions of China which have traditionally used other energy sources to provide hot water.关键词
