摘要

Abstract

Regenerator is a key part of regenerative cryocoolers, and it gives predominant contribution to the performance of cryocoolers. In this paper, the recent development of regenerator in regenerative cryocoolers is described. Stacked mesh screens, parallel wires, sphere beds, parallel plates, random wire, mesh screens & packed spheres mixed packing are the commonly used configurations for regenerators, and the characters of different regenerators are discussed separately. It is suggested that the regenerator should be assessed by regenerator thermal efficiency η, specific surface area a, flow maldistribution factor Fm, flow friction factor f regenerator matrix geometric factorΓ, axial material heat conduction factor Ck, and ratio of length and diameter LID. And the ways of optimizing the regenerator geometries are analyzed. Finally, the challenge and problems of optimizing the matrix geometries are previewed.
