摘要

Abstract

A new adsorbent was synthesized from peanut shell,a natural product,using epoxy chloropropane and ethanediamine as cross-linking and modification agents.Factors affecting the adsorption behavior of this adsorbent for direct blue(DB) and sunset yellow(SY),such as pH,initial dye concentration and adsorption time,were investigated.It was determined that the maximal adsorption capacities of this adsorbent for DB and SY were 129.1 mg·g-1 and 135.2 mg·g-1 respectively at 25 ℃,pH 2.0 for 3 h,which were 5.6-fold and 4.8-fold respectively of that of the unmodified peanut shell.This adsorption results,achieved only at high acidity,indicated that the protonized amidogen on the surface of peanut shells adsorbed anionic dyes through electrostatic attraction.Additionally,the adsorption isotherm obey the Langmuir model demonstrating chemical adsorption.Moreover,the adsorption process agreed well with quasi-second order kinetic equation.
