Abstract

Effects of silicon fertilizer on physiological characteristics and yield formation of super early rice were investigated in this study with Zhuliangyou819(lodging sensitive variety) and Luliangyou996(lodging resistant variety) as materials. The main conclusions were showed: Yield of super early rice was heightened by silicon fertilizer application at some extent, yield of Zhuliangyou819 and Luliangyou996 was increased by 6.71% to 18.25% and by 9.32% to 21.89% respectively, and the yield-increasing was mainly due to the increase of leaf index, dry matter accumulation, matter conversion rate and coordination of relation of sink-source. Silicon application could improve the physiological characteristics of super early rice, which mainly lied in increasing of chlorophyll content, soluble sugar content, nitrate reductase activity and roots volume. The effect of silicon fertilizer on yield increase and physiological characteristics improvement were best under the condition of 150 kg/hm2 of nitrogen application and it was more effective for Luliangyou996 than for Zhuliangyou819.
