Abstract
Objective To detect the levels of developmental quotient ( DQ ) and insulin-like growth factor-1 ( IGF-1 ) in infants with congenital hypothyroidism ( CH ) so as to explore the relationship between IGF-1 and DQ. Methods DQ of 37 infants diagnosed with CH was detected with Gesell development scale and IGF-1 and thyroid function of them were measured with chemiluminescence method. Results Gesell test showed that DQ of personal-social behavior of six-month old CH infants improved significantly compared with that of three-month old ones ( t = 5. 8 ,P < 0.01 ). DQ of personal-social behavior was positively correlated with IGF-1 ( r = 0. 42 ). Conclusion The intellectual development of CH infants is related to IGF-1 level, which indicates that early detection of DQ and IGF-1 level will contribute to the evaluation of intellectual deficits of them.关键词
