摘要
Abstract
The occurrence of the intracardiac echogenic focus ( ICEF ) within the ventricles of the fetal heart is found and well known in mid-1980s. The histopathological manifestation of this sonographic sign is a microcalcification in papillary muscle. Such appearance is initially thought to be entirely benign. In 1992, Roberts and Genest reported microcalcifications in ventricles in 16% of fetuses with trisomy 21, 39% of fetuses with trisomy 13 , and 2% of normal chromosome fetuses. Since then, studies on its clinical significance especially the association with fetal chromosoamal abnormality never stop. The aim of this article was to review the literatures on this topic.关键词
