Abstract
For improving the maritime traffic safety management, the accident data of the fluctuating backwater area in the Three Gorges Reservoir Areas from 2006 to 2010 have been collected, including the types of vessel accident, time- space distribution of vessel accidents and so on. According to the statistical results, running against a rock, vessel a-ground, collision and sinking are the main reasons for vessel accidents. For a period of a year, most accidents happen in May and August, and few happen in January and December. Based on the analyses of results and the factors of crews, navigation, vessels and management, the accident causation has been discussed. Furthermore, the improvement is proposed to help the authority to deal with the problem.关键词
