Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical efficiency of anterior decompression and internal fixation for throaco-lumbar burst fractures with paraplegia. Methods A retrospective evaluation was done to 30 cases with thoracolumbar spinal burst fractures with paraplegia. All were treated by the anterior decompression and internal fixation with Kaneda instrumentation. Results 30 cases were followed up for 6 ~24 months. According to Frankel grading system,in 3 cases of grade A,l case improved to grade C,2 got no improvement;in 3 cases of grade B,l case improved to grade D,2 to grade C;in 12 cases of grade C,5 cases impmved to grade D,4 to grade E and 3 had no improvement;in 12 cases of grade D, 10 cases improved to grade E and 2 got no improvement. Conclusions The anterior approach for the operation can decompress thoroughly, achieve significant recovery of the neural function. It is an effecttive method for the treatment of thoracolumbar burst fractures with paraplegia.关键词
