Using posterior pedicle screws to treat the lumbar burst fracture

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of posterior pedicle screws in the treatment of lumbar burst fracture. Methods 36 cases ( 38 vertebrae ) of with lumbar burst fractures were undergone posterior pedicle screws fixation. During the follow-up, all patients underwent X-ray examination, and sagittal diameter index of anterior vertebral height and preoperative kyphosis angle were measured in 1 week and 8 months after operation. Results All patients were followed up for 8 ~ 15 months. Sagittal diameter index of anterior vertebral height before surgery was restored from 42. 2% ±7. 3% to 98. 3% ± 1. 5% 1 week after operation, and 97. 5% ± 1. 6% 8 months after operation, and the significant change was observed between 1 week after operation,8 months after operation and preoperation( P < 0. 05 ); and there was no significant change between 1 week after operation and 8 months after operation( P >0. 05 ). The Cobb angle decreased from 19. 2° ±6. 1° to 2. 6° ± 1. 3° in 1 week after operation, 3. 3° ± 1. 4° in 8 months after operation, and the significant change was observed between 1 week after operation,8 months after operation and preo-peration( P < 0. 05 ), and there was no significant change between 1 week after operation and 8 months after operation ( P >0. 05 ). Conclusions Posterior pedicle screws in the treatment of lumbar burst fracture is a better way.关键词
