摘要

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of 0. 01% mitomycin C(MMC) on the corneal endothelium in LASEK. Methods Prospective consecutive clinical case study. 87 patients (172 eyes) treated with LASEK were observed , intraoperatively, immediately after laser treatment, a sponge(6 mm in diameter) soaked with mitomycin C 0. 01% was applied to the corneal stromal bed , the exposure time was adjusted according to the laser ablation depth , 10" for 75 [Am ~ 100 [Am depth, 15" for 101 [Am ~ 130 [Am, 20" for 131 [Am ~ 160 [Am. The density and morphology of corneal endothelial cells was observed to evaluated the MMC toxicity before the operation and the first month ,3rd months,and 6th months after the operation. Results The incidence rate of hzae was 5. 8%. According to the residual corneal stromal thickness , all the eyes were divided into three groups , group A≤S340 [Am, group B 341 [Am ~370 [Am, group C ≥371 [Am. In every group, the effects of MMC on the corneal endothelial cells density and the variation coefficient were compared among the different exposure time, the Results showed that there was no statistical difference changes in the corneal endothelial cells density and the variation coefficient among the different exposure time . Conclusion During LASEK, according ablation depth to select application time of MMC dose not induce changes in the density and morphology of corneal endothelial cells .
