摘要

Abstract

Battery energy storage system (BESS) can be used for peak load and frequency regulating. The scalable configuration and possibility of isolation between power sources and demand gives BESS a great opportunity in power system application. At this stage, however, the electrochemistry characteristics limit the battery volumn and make it less practical in terms of operation and maintainence. So it is worthy to explore how to use the power electronic device as a bridge for two distinct systems (electrochemistry and power grid), supporting the integration of different battery types, and the functions of load shifting, reactive power regulation, and renewable energy matching.
