中国东部夏季中尺度对流系统以及中尺度对流涡旋的特征
The characteristics of mesoscale convective system and mesoscale convective vortex in summers over eastern China
摘要
Abstract
Mesoscale convective system (MCS) and mesoscale convective vortex (MCV) often cause severe weather events and heavy rain. So they are one of mesoscale of severe weather systems. In this article, a method which combines MCV detection with self-identification of MCS from infrared imagery is developed. With this method. MCS and MCV in east china are identified from the historic data and their characteristics are analyzed. The result shows that no matter which kind of mesoscale convective system is. The mesoscale convective vortexes are mainly located at low levels, especially at 850 hPa. In addition, the thickness of the mesoscale convective vortex is usually quite small except meso-alinear mesoscale convective systems. The scale and shape of MCS are found to play an important role in the distribution of precipitation. The scale, shape and the profile of -52° at the top of MCS can be taken as a predictor of precipitation. MCV in east China is mostly situated at the north part of MCS关键词
