Effects of calcium on soluble protein expression of cucumber seedlings under root-zoon hypoxia stress

摘要

Abstract

A hydroponic experiment was conducted to study the effects of exogenous calcium and trifluoperazine(TFP)on the soluble protein expression of hypoxia sensitive cultivar of Jinchun 2' cucumber ( Cucumis sativus L. ) under root-zoom hypoxia stress. The results showed that the biomass of plants significantly decreased under hypoxia. After exogenous Ca + was added in the nutrient solution,the biomass of plants increased significantly, but decreased sharply after adding in the TFP compared with hypoxia treatment. The soluble protein content of root decreased under hypoxia and increased after exerting Ca +. The soluble protein of leaves increased under hypoxia,and under Ca2+ treatment was higher than the control and hypoxia treatment at the sixth and the ninth day after treatment; the soluble protein of root and leaves decreased both under TFP treatment. Through the SDS-PAGE analysis, 9 proteins relative molecular weight(×103)of 17.2,19.7,24.0,31.5,35.0,51.2,64.8,75.0 and 83.0 changed obviously in roots under different treatments;7 proteins relative molecular weight(×103 )of 14.0,21.0,34.0,37.2,39.0,46.5 and 58.5 also changed in leaves. The exogenous calcium increased the biomass significantly,and adjusted the soluble protein content and protein expression in roots and leaves of cucumber,and then enhanced the hypoxia tolerance of cucumber.
