Abstract
Objective To evaluate the personality characteristics, the level of mental health and the coping ways of psychiatric male nurses in Chengdu and their relativity. Methods Applied the Eysenck personality questionnaire (EPQ), the coping ways questionnaire and the Symptom Checklist-90 to evaluate 46 psychiatric male nurses, and gave an relative analysis. Results The scores of the factor E of EPQ questionnaire is lower than norm, while the scores of the factor N is higher than norm, and both have a statistical meaning. The psychiatric male nurses' scores of depression, anxiety and interpersonal sensitivity are significantly higher than norm. The scores of self-blame and avoidance are significantly higher than the normal groups, while the score of seeking for help is significantly lower than the normal groups. The factor of neuroticism has varying degrees of relativity with immature coping mode and the positive symptoms of SCL-90. There is a positive relativity between the positive symptoms of SCL-90 and the immature coping mode. Conclusion There are relativities among personality characteristics, coping ways and mental health, active coping ways can effectively improve the psychiatric male nurses' levels of mental health on the basis of personality characteristics.关键词
