Abstract
Chinese modern architecture has important historical and cultural value and they should be protected and utilized correctly and actively. Historical development, architectural features and status quo of Hongjitang's west commercial port which is typical modern building in Jinan are studied in detail. Because this building has very important scientific and technological value, historical and cultural value, landscape value, we explore ways and means that could be used in the process of protection and utilization of modem architecture by means of field reconnaissance, mapping, analysis, research and design, transformation. Through careful design and protection, Hongjitangs west commercial port is revitalized and social and economic benefits of modern architecture are achieved.关键词
